故事发生在系列中前两款广受好评的游戏《蝙蝠侠：阿卡姆疯人院》和《蝙蝠侠：阿卡姆城》多年以前，高谭市最危险的罪犯尚未崛起，还无法识破人间险恶的年青蝙蝠侠初出江湖成为打击犯罪的斗士时，面临人生中的关键时刻，使他走上黑暗骑士之路。
